I am not a runner. I don’t have the body type for it and I found that out the hard way after competing in 16 triathlons. I admire runners however.
I have no desire to run in the NYC marathon but I will be there for my patients at the finish line, cheering them on!
I decided to include this link for Anti-Chaffing after I was sent an awesome testimonial from one of my clients, an avid runner and NYC marathoner…
Let me preclude this email with telling you that Vaseline is a byproduct of Petroleum, yes, a petrochemical, which is harmful to the Liver. The Liver has a very difficult time trying to filter something that belongs in a car, not a human. So, for those that are athletes and are looking to keep your body clean and pristine, I would suggest ditching the bad for the good…
Here was his email:
“Hi Bianca! Not sure if you are treating any other long distance runners that you can share this with, but at the very least i know you always like a good testimonial… so for my long runs I’ve always used vaseline (i know, gasp) smeared between my thighs and under my arms to prevent chafing (anything over 15 miles and chafing is a huge issue!) at the start to the marathon, 2 years ago, they even had a vaseline station set up with huge tubs of the stuff for runners to smear all over themselves (i know, gasp, again). anyways 2 days ago i thought i would try out the mix we have of the V6 Massage Oil and Young Living Lavender Essential oil before my 20 miler… a couple sprays and i wiped it on my inner thighs, under my arms, and also on the waist line of my shorts which can rub sometimes too– well you prob know where this is going but lo and behold i finished the run with NO Chafing! i know this stuff works but it’s fun when you are continuously surprised by the stuff– feel free to pass along the idea to any of your athletes. ~ Frank”
